Understanding business is essential to the success of young people today and tomorrow. Through JA programming, elementary school students develop positive attitudes towards business and economics while strengthening interpersonal and communication skills. Currently JA’s introductory program for Canadian students, Business Basics uses colourful and fun activities to help students learn about business and economics and how the fit into the business mix.
The program comprises 4 modules:
organization - Introduction to basic organising elements management - functional areas, decisions and hiring procedures production - concept of unit versus mass production and the importance of quality control marketing - introduction to pricing, advertising and selling
Outcomes - students learn about:
the relationships between organization, management, production and marketing the role of small business in their community
