This program offers students the chance to experience the risks and rewards of entrepreneurship. Students run their own classroom-based business enterprise by producing a product or providing a service. Working with the educator for approximately one hour per week, volunteer consultants provide guidance in the start up and operation of the student run business over a 10-12 week period. Topics include developing a business plan, marketing a product or service, maintaining and analysing financial records and liquidating the enterprise.
Outcomes - Students will:
operate, monitor and liquidate their business venture
produce financial reports and keep records
be responsible to their shareholders by producing a shareholder’s report and distribute dividends (if any).
